- Introduction
This privacy policy sets out how Finquest Group and its affiliated entities (“Finquest”, “we”, “our” or “us”) collect and use your personal information when you use www.finquest.com (the “Site”) and/or our related services of facilitating the identification and introductions between investors and targets (the “Service”).
Finquest is not involved in the actual transaction between investors and targets, and does not render any investment, financial or legal advice in connection therewith or perform business due diligence.
Finquest is the controller and responsible for your personal data that Finquest collects in its role as data controller via the Service and Sites within Finquest’s control. This policy does not apply to any content, data or information processed, stored, or hosted by our customers using the Service in connection with a Finquest Service account; in such case Finquest is a data processor.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or our privacy practices, or if you would like to exercise any of your rights in relation to your personal data (as set out in Section 6 below) please contact us using the details below.
If you are a California resident using our Services, Section 15. of this Privacy Policy is applicable to you.
- The Types of Personal Data that We Collect
We collect personal data to provide our services to you; maintain communications with you; and/or in order to comply with applicable law. Please note that if we have requested personal data from you and you decide that you do not want to share certain personal data with us, then this may prevent us from (i) providing our services to you, or (ii) entering into a contract to provide services to you. In these circumstances, we will ensure we notify you when reasonably possible to do so.
We collect different types of personal data, including:
- Identity Data includes first name, last name, any previous names, role, department, title, log-in credentials, profile image, and video/audio.
- Contact Data includes work and personal billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers.
- Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you in relation to the Service.
- Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.
We collect technical data, meaning any information that is derived from an individual account but alone, does not identify the user. We may collect and process different kinds of technical data about you including but not limited to:
- Usage Data includes time spent on page, country of login, device, and referrer.
If we combine or connect usage data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this privacy policy.
We do not solicit or collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data, nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences. We also do not knowingly collect Personal Data relating to children. If you believe that we have collected information about a child under 18, please contact us, so that we may delete the information.
- How do we Collect Your Personal Data
Client Personal Data
Most of the personal data we process about you is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- when you visit our website;
- when you contact us on our website;
- when you complete a registration form on our website;
- when you register for one of our events or webinars;
- when you attend a meeting or video conference, event or webinar that we host or attend;
- when you contact us via LinkedIn;
- when you phone us;
- when you provide us with your details at an event; and
- when you provide us with details in order to set up a contract for the provision of our services.
We may also receive personal data indirectly from our third-party events partners in order for us to send marketing material to individuals: (i) that have consented to their details being shared with us and to receive marketing material, or (ii) where we have a legitimate interest in sending our marketing material and our legitimate interest does not override data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.
We ensure that, where we receive your personal data indirectly, the third party providing your personal data has the necessary lawful basis to share your personal data with us.
We also collect your personal data when you voluntarily provide such information to us, such as when you fill in the sign-up form or use our Service. Personal data can also be provided when you contact us with inquiries, or provide feedback to us.
The Site automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, cookie information, and page(s) requested. This information helps us by informing us how the Site and/or Service are being used. The list of cookies currently used on our website can be found in our Cookie Policy.
4. How do we Process Your Personal Data
We may collect, use and/or disclose your personal data for the following purposes (our legal basis for this is set out below):
- to provide and improve the Service (1. Necessary for our legitimate interest to carry out and develop our Services and 2. Performance of the contract with you);
- to send you emails where you have indicated interest, reached out to us, or when you use our Service (1. Necessary for our legitimate interests to keep our records updated and manage our relationship with you and 2. Performance of the contract with you);
- for marketing purposes, where you have provided your consent for us to do so. Such consent may be withdrawn at any time by using the opt-out link provided on any email communication you receive from us, or by contacting us via email at: privacy@finquest.com. We will get your express consent before we share your personal data with any third party for their own direct marketing purposes (1. Consent);
- to address any issues or to contact you regarding any complaints, feedback, queries or requests (1. Necessary for our legitimate interests to keep our records updated and manage our relationship with you 2. Performance of the contract with you);
- to facilitate investigations into any suspicious or illegal activity on the Site (1. Necessary for our legitimate interests (for running our business, provision of administration and IT services, network security, to prevent fraud), and 2. Necessary to comply with a legal obligation); and
- where required by any act, statute, law, or regulation, or by order of a government authority or a court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction (1. Legal Obligation).
We sometimes record meetings to provide a record of the content of such meetings. You will be informed in the meeting, prior to any recording taking place, that the meeting will be recorded. The recording could contain the following:
- your video, including your image and any images you have in your background, should you choose to share your background with us; and/or
- your audio, should you choose to contribute to the meeting, including any information you provide about yourself.
- In all circumstances, we only use your personal data for the purpose it was collected unless we reasonably believe that we need to use such personal data for another, related purpose, and it is legally possible to do so. If we need to use your personal data for any other purpose, we will notify you and let you know the lawful basis on which we propose to rely.
At this time, we do not use personal data for the purpose of using automated decision making or profiling.
- Sharing Your Personal Data
We only share your personal data if it is necessary to do so in order to provide our services to you or enhance our relationship with you. Whenever we share your personal data with a third-party provider, we ensure that this is done so in accordance with applicable data protection laws by implementing appropriate measures to maintain the security and confidentiality of your personal data, and to ensure that your personal data is used in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We may share your personal data with the following categories of recipients:
- Finquest Group, for details on the locations please see Section 15 below;
- third-party service providers that: (i) provide hosting services; (ii) provide data processing services; or (iii) process personal data for other purposes detailed in this Privacy Policy. These include but are not limited to:
- IT service providers, for example: Salesforce Inc, Microsoft Office365, Dropbox, Outreach, OVHCloud, Quickbooks, LuxConnect, Breezy HR, Docusign, Mailjet, Mailpro, Visible, Guru;
- professional advisors, for example insurers, lawyers and other applicable professional bodies;
- CRM service providers, for example Salesforce or Outreach; and
- marketing service providers;
- to any law enforcement body, regulatory, government agency, court or other third party where we believe disclosure is necessary, for example to exercise, establish or defend our legal rights, or we are compelled to disclose such personal data to comply with the law;
- to a potential purchaser or investor (and its agents and advisors) in connection with a proposed merger or acquisition of any part or all of our business, provided that the purchaser may not use your personal data for any purpose other than for the purposes detailed in this Privacy Policy; or
- to any other person you have consented to us to share personal data with.
In all circumstances that we share personal data with a third party we only do so to the extent that it is required for them to provide their services to us. At all times your personal data must be processed in accordance with (i) this Privacy Policy; and (ii) any additional data protection terms, incorporated into the agreement that we have with them, which are no less stringent than the protection afforded by this Privacy Policy.
- Lawful Basis for Processing your Personal Data
Under the Data Protection Act 2018 (“UK GDPR”) and the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”), the lawful bases that we normally rely on for processing your personal data, detailed above, are:
- You are able to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting privacy@finquest.com.
- Contractual Obligation. Where processing is necessary for the performance of our contractual obligations to you.
- Legitimate Interest. Where we have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data, if this is the case we will inform you of what our legitimate interest is at the time of collecting your personal data.
- Other Lawful Bases for Processing your Personal Data
We may need to process your personal data in order to comply with applicable laws, in these circumstances we have a legal obligation to process your data, but we will inform you if this is the case.
Where we undertake direct marketing, we only do so with your consent and/or where we have a legitimate interest to do so, but in any event, you have the option to opt out of any direct marketing at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our marketing material.
- How We Store Your Personal Data and for How Long
We store your personal data as long as it is necessary in order for us to maintain the business relationship we have with you. This means we keep your personal data for as long as you are a user of our Services and there is a legitimate interest to process your personal data.
- Security
In order to maintain the confidentiality and security of your personal data we have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures.
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements.
In some circumstances we will anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.
- International Data Transfers
If the disclosure of your personal data to any of our partners, agents, service providers or affiliates involves a transfer of that personal data to a country outside of the UK or EEA which does not provide the same level of protection as the UK or EEA, we will at all times ensure that your personal data, and your legal rights are protected through the use of the appropriate safeguards provided under the data protection laws of the UK and/or EEA.

When you subscribe to our services, you trust us with certain personal data. We understand that it is essential we work hard to protect your personal data and provide you with the access you need to feel in control of your personal data you provide to us.
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
- your right of access – you have the right to ask us for copies of your personal data;
- your right to rectification – you have the right to ask us to rectify personal data you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete;
- your right to erasure – you have the right to ask us to erase your personal data in certain circumstances;
- your right to restriction of processing – you have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances;
- your right to object to processing – you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances; and
- your right to data portability – you have the right to ask that we transfer your personal data you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We keep this privacy policy under regular review.
It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us, for example a new address or email address.
- Notice for US-based Customers
If you are a resident of California, under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) and other California privacy laws this Section applies to your use of the Services.
Definitions
For purposes of this Section 12, the terms “Business,” “Business Purpose,” “Commercial Purpose,” “Consumer,” “Personal Information,” “Processing,” “Sell,” “Service Provider,” “Share,” and “Verifiable Consumer Request” shall have the meanings outlined in the CCPA.
All references to “Personal Data,” “Controller,” “Processor,” and “Data Subject” in this Section shall be deemed to be references to “Personal Information,” “Business,” “Service Provider,” and “Consumer,” respectively, as defined in the CCPA.
Obligations
The Parties Agree agree that Company is a Service Provider for the purposes of the CCPA (to the extent it applies) and Company is receiving Personal Information from you in order to provide the Services pursuant to the Agreement, which constitutes a Business Purpose.
You shall disclose Personal Information to Company only for the limited and specified purposes described in Section 7. of this Policy.
Company shall not Sell or Share Personal Information provided by you under the Agreement.
Company shall notify you if it makes a determination that it can no longer meet its obligations under the CCPA.
Company shall comply with all obligations applicable to Service Providers under the CCPA, including by providing Personal Information provided by Customer under the Agreement the level of privacy protection required by CCPA.
